CARA BLACKLEY – MAID OF HONOUR
Well... where do I start. Cara was born in 2003, when I was 3. Her name should really be called Dora, because that is what she was called for the first few years of her life (my favourite TV show was obviously Dora the Explorer!). When we lost our dad in 2010, I took on the role of also being Cara's second Mum (the stricter one). Since then, me and Cara have been inseparable. She looks up to me for advise, someone to moan to and someone to share her achievements with - oh, and someone that she can steal clothes/shoes/bags from! (and the rest...). Although me and Cara are very different, we are also very alike (expect she got the nice long thick hair!). She always knows how to make people laugh with her caring nature. On the day of mine and Alex's marriage, Cara is going to be there to guide me through the next chapter of my life.
CIARA CHAMBERS
Me and Ciara met when we started Year 7 in Holly Lodge in 2010. Me and Ciara were always best friends in school and we have made so many memories together over the years, including a holiday to Greece with my mum and Cara. Ciara has always been like another sister to us. She has always been there to pick me up when I am down and to make me laugh. She is also a fabulous beautician as well as a psychologist! From fixing my makeup to styling my hair and doing my lashes, she always makes sure I look and feel my best, whilst analyzing my complicated brain.
OLIVIA RYAN
Me and Liv met in Edge Hill University when we first started our degree in 2017. We quickly realised that we lived down the road from each other (literally!) and had many mutual friends. We then become best friends - we drove to every lecture and seminar together and would go out of a weekend too. Liv is actually the reason me and Alex met! Since then, me and Liv have laughed and cried our way through life together and made so many amazing memories. Her dad even says that I am his other daughter, we are that close - I am that friend at every family party!
AMELIA HOLLAND
My twin, as most people would say! Me and Amelia met in school - we both went to Holly Lodge. Since then we have enjoyed growing up together and attended many parties, festivals and even went on holiday to Croatia together. Amelia is such a caring, kind person - in 2018 my Grandad Billy was poorly in hospital and at the time, Amelia was not only amazing to me but to our whole family, which we will never forget. Amelia loves to do the worm so if you spot someone on the dance floor during the wedding night it will be most probably be her!
EMILY HEATH
Me and Em worked together in Play Away around 6 years ago. I was Emily's manager at the time so I think secretly she hated me (joking). Just before I moved out to Dubai Emily messaged me to say she was also moving there around the same time as me. We met up for my birthday a few days after I arrived there and that was it, she has been stuck with me since! Me and Emily are very similar in so many ways, and the fact that we are both teachers is even better! Alex and Will also become friends, which worked perfectly for double dates. When I went back to Dubai on my own after Christmas, Emily looked after me and was my shoulder to cry on. She is such a supportive, caring friend.
DAN SHINKFIELD – BEST MAN
Dan is Alex’s cousin, who he spent most of his childhood with. After school, they would always go at Auntie Debbie’s and spent most of their time on the PlayStation. Since then, nothing’s really changed, they are still as close – they’ve had loads of adventures together, going on camping trips and city breaks. Dan always makes us laugh and we can't wait to be guests at his wedding one day.
MATTY HESSEY - BEST MAN
Alex and Matty met each other in Primary School. They both went to separate high schools, however they become closer friends during their teenage years. Alex and Matty have made many memories together, going on holidays, to parties and on many walks around Portico. Matty was there the night me and Alex met - after the party had finished the 3 of us sat on the couch watching random things on the TV - who would have thought 7 years on he would be a best man at our wedding!
ALEX CARTER - RING BEARER
Alex is my younger cousin. Most of you will know this Alex as 'little Alex' and my Alex as 'big Alex', although this doesn't really work anymore as they are nearly both the same size! I have always had the best relationship with Alex - we love our days out in the half terms and holidays, although sometimes I think he would prefer to be playing football or video games with 'big' Alex. Alex has always called me 'Nona', which I hope he calls me forever!
